Formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2011, DIIV’s debut album Oshin made an instant impact, followed by the highly acclaimed Is the Is Are, establishing them as a leading force in the dream-pop/shoegaze scene. In 2019, they returned with their third album Deceiver, bringing a dark, gritty grunge sound that further cemented their place in today's indie scene. During the pandemic years, while a massive shoegaze revival was brewing worldwide, DIIV immersed themselves in creation. Gazing into the collective oblivion and trying to articulate a trace of hope inside that enveloping gloom, they gave birth to Frog in Boiling Water—an album heavy with profound reflections on our modern society. In 2026, the band captured their peak live form with Boiled Alive, a live album recorded at Los Angeles' Teragram Ballroom in 2025, which fully translates the energy of Frog in Boiling Water, serving as both a monument to their live prowess and a retrospective of their 15-year musical journey. Returning to Asia after nine years is a monumental milestone. As the new wave of shoegaze sweeps over a new generation, one of the most influential driving forces behind this movement is coming to Hong Kong.
