Jazz Future: Nam & Friends

Venue

Description

Emerging guitarist Nam, a graduate of Fountain Academy, has been steadily shaping his voice within the local jazz scene. For this performance, he leads a quintet featuring pianist Rui, bassist Woopok, and drummer Mike Hui, joined by guest vocalist Angela. Together, these musicians represent a vibrant wave of local talent, each bringing solid craftsmanship and strong collaborative energy to the stage. For their set at CODA, the ensemble navigates a diverse repertoire spanning Jazz Blues, Hard Bop classics, and timeless standards, alongside fresh arrangements of select Hong Kong and Japanese songs. Balancing traditional jazz structures with modern improvisational dialogue, the band delivers a dynamic, cross-genre performance grounded in rich harmony and groove.
