After a bustling Halloween, let’s sit down this Saturday to enjoy music and some stories. Join us for ‘Bygone Serenades’, an intimate celebration of singing, songwriting and song at Lai Chi Kok’s unique Yuyin Club. Alongside their songs, the performers will share personal stories of how they came about, inviting the audience to partake in their musical energy and gain an insight into the songwriting process. Tomii Chan @ Tomii takes us on a journey through his own highly personal songs including work from his latest album ‘New Country, New Road’, alongside covers of songs that have been meaningful to him at different points in his life. A Vivid Machine @ Hachimukh presents a cycle of six songs set around a Rip Van Winkle-esque character waking up to a world changed beyond recognition. Virgin Vacation ( 假日貞操 ) @ James W. Hedges plays from his back catalogue of idiosyncratic but heartfelt songs, written from 2006 right up to last summer.
